Muscat, July 8 – ONA: The Athar Foundation for Health Endowment and Sohar Islamic Bank signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) today to strengthen community partnerships aimed at developing the endowment-based health sector in the Sultanate of Oman.
The MoU aims to establish cooperation in developing the health sector through endowments, supporting sustainable health initiatives, and exchanging expertise between the Islamic banking sector and the endowment sector.
The agreement outlines collaboration in several key areas, including providing technical and logistical support for health endowment projects, promoting joint health initiatives, and offering specialized training programs for the Foundation’s staff.
It also includes a commitment from both parties to activate joint efforts through the formation of a regular follow-up team to oversee the implementation of agreed initiatives, while ensuring the protection of both parties’ rights through detailed agreements for each project.
The signing of the MoU comes as part of efforts to activate endowment partnerships in the health sector and to develop sustainable financing solutions that serve the community and contribute to the advancement of healthcare services in Oman.
The MoU was signed on behalf of Sohar Islamic Bank by Mr. Fahad bin Akbar Al Zadjali, Head of Islamic Banking, and on behalf of the Athar Foundation by Ms. Reem bint Nour bin Mohammed Al Zadjaliyah, a member of the Foundation’s Board of Directors.
